He caressed the violin that belonged to Paul. Rather, it used to be Paul's, it was Kurt's now. He closed his eyes, taking in the feel of the polished wood, remembering afternoons filled with music and warmth.

A deep breath, and Kurt picked up the instrument, so delicately, afraid it might break. He tuned it, picked up the bow. It was ready.

He played and cried, the notes long and smooth and haunting.

Imagine, Paul, the night sky! The stars are glowing, but they're so far away, and you can't feel their warmth.

In that moment, they were together again.
