“Bob, I don’t think you should be allowed near a car. You’re deadly,” Maureen shook her head, but she couldn’t resist chuckling.
“That’s because y'all drive backwards!” Bob, smirking, leaned over to her, his elbow on the wheel.
“You were over the speed limit. That’s nothing to do with ‘driving backwards’.”
“It was an emergency.”
“What?”
“Getting you out of that place was an emergency.”
“I doubt it.”
Soon, everyone was gathered around Superintendent Chester’s desk, drinking coffee.
“I heard, Bob,” Supt. Chester, chuckled, dragging the O, “that maybe Sergeant Maguire should be the one behind the wheel, next time.”
