A short documentary about Conrad Veidt (link goes to YouTube). And with "documentary about Conrad Veidt", I mean "random video showing some notebooks done by a Conrad Veidt fan".
Made by Ivan Rado (that's Lili's nephew), it's honestly quite interesting.
Said fan gave these notebooks to Lili. I have no idea where the notebooks are now. Probably in the possession the Conrad Veidt Society, if they still exist [1].
The notebooks contain novelisations in Hungarian of several Veidt films (Das Rätsel von Bangalor, The Indian Tomb, Lucrezia Borgia and Paganini). The prose is described as flowery and vivid. Quite the treasure, considering two of those films are now lost. Those texts are the closest we can get to watching the films. They're also lavishly illustrated. The colours are pleasant, I love that I can recognise what publicity pictures the fan used as reference. And they can give us an idea of how these films looked like. The framing for the illustrations are also so pretty. It's outsider art, and I say this as a compliment.
And there's a song about him in the beginning and the end! It's in German though, but the full lyrics are in the description.
[1] I find it odd that Rado gave a bunch of Connie's stuff to, what is essentially, a group of strangers (including the man himself! And his own aunt!). And far as I know, Viola was in America.
At least, the "essentially group of strangers" brought him back to England. That's what he wanted. No really, it's in his will. He wanted to live permanently in England and be buried there.
Yeah, I have his will. Normal things for a guy to have: 1) some man's will :P
