Feeling a bit sick right now, but...
I finished Pride and Prejudice! As a 21st century Portuguese native reading a 19th century English novel, it wasn't a breezy read. But I couldn't resist grabbing this one copy, it has an historical context chapter and footnotes. Footnotes!
I liked it! It was very funny, why don't more people talk about the humour in Austen's novels.
Now, I want to see the 1995 miniseries. And after that I'm watching The Passing on the Third Floor Back.
Also watched Ich und die Kaiserin (twice!). One time without subtitles. This movie an historical romcom musical. This is comfort food for the soul! Conrad Veidt woke up that day and chose campness (and then sparkly sound effects man wanted to outcamp his campiness). It's naughty, it's funny, and Veidt is adorable. "Veidt" and "adorable" are not two words you usually use in a sentence to describe a character he played lol.
The Marquis finds a garter, falls off his horse and is dying. The empress' hairdresser is mistaken for some singer he likes and is brought back to life. Now he's searching for the mysterious voice, and thinks it was the empress herself.

EDIT: this meme I had to do 10 minutes in.

On another note, need to get back at giffing. Jacqueline Hill deserves it.
