Bob shouldn't have been allowed to drive, that's what Superintendent Chester said, at least not in England, but in situations like those, they let him loose.
He sped down the street, chasing the robbers — they were armed, how exciting —, the foot never lifting from the accelerator pedal. Crashing was not an option.
One of the robbers popped out, gun in hand, and shot at him. The bullets didn't hit him or any civilians. What a bad shot, they don't do criminals like they used to.
They did hit a tire. No problem, Bob could keep going. It's possible to drive with a flat tire for quite a while.
It wasn't an issue until it was, and Bob had to stop the car. The robbers disappeared. But he was, if not resourceful. And intelligent. And handsome.
Maureen must've been in a street nearby, that marvelous woman. Also resourceful, intelligent and beautiful.
