Saw all of the Fatty Arbuckle + Buster Keaton shorts.

They got better as they went on, but never to the point of genius. Usually ranged from "decent and harmless" to "JUST END ALREADY!". There's quite a lot of racism and misogyny, most notably in the "JUST END ALREADY!" category. The decent and harmless had some clever gags. Arbuckle can juggle knives like it's nothing.

As the shorts go on, Keaton's roles(s) get more prominent (I think it was his second short, he shows up for half a minute as a beggar. By the last short he's Arbuckle's sidekick.)

My favourites were The Bell Boy, The Cook, Back Stage and The Garage. (I didn't dislike Coney Island, it does have Keaton in a lifeguard outfit doing standing backflips and a very funny camera gag.)

Let's see what Ingmar Bergman film I'll watch now. Yesterday I saw Persona, which was good (don't ask me what it's about though).

XD All interpretations are valid, that's the beauty of it, right? And I think that many of his movies are like that!

Yeah, even with his "easier" movies I sometimes feel they are too heavy and dense, and so I have to be in the right mood to watch them. But I do like that slow, thoughtful vibe, that sort of "calm before the storm" thing he does so well, and of course all the possible meanings you can find! I really liked Autumn Sonata! And The Magician! And Summer interlude! And The Seventh Seal! Oh, and Cries and Whispers! <3

I know when a man comes round with my wedding dress I always make him model it instead of trying it on for myself;p

Knocking out women to kiss them is fine, don't you know! The racist version ending to Coney is really bad.

Not forgetting animal cruelty. I watched all the Keaton star shorts last year and yeah that horse was as thin as I remember.

I did like all the they wouldn't let you do that now stunts and Keaton's artful pratfalls though.

Alas mr other side kick guy he didn't last long when Keaton came along.

Keaton in female clothes are the highlights of the Fatty Arbuckle shorts for me XD

Yeah, it wasn't good for the dog either:(

I've seen about three Ingmar Bergman films because that was all they had at the library. And can't remember much.

You're the best \o/ He's a lovely mover XD

Yikes, Arbuckle's really not coming across as a nice man.

My memories are so fuzzy but The atmosphere is off the charts. is the big quote for a film poster.
